Summary
At an early morning in the forest, Smurfette is teaching three Smurfs the art of Smurf-Fu while Baby Smurf watches nearby. Smurfette's class isn't doing so well with the training, all falling on top of each other in the process. The worn-out Smurfs get up for Smurfette's next study: Grand Master Lee's method, which interests them. Smurfette then preforms his methods by pulling a Smurf's ear, hitting another Smurf's nose, and tickling the other Smurf. She then yells "Ya-kaboom!" and flips back to where she was standing before. Baby takes interest in Smurfette's art and imitates it.
Smurfette's final thing she tells the three Smurfs is to listen to the voice of wisdom. The Smurfs are questioned by this and Smurfette believes that this means they have to listen to a sensei. Since all they see is dirt, the meditate for the answer to come. Suddenly, Smurfette has a vision of Baby in the sky, flipping around and meditating with them.
Smurfette then wakes up, telling the three Smurfs that she has a vision that Baby is in the sky, claiming that he said he is a sensei. The Smurfs are puzzled by this, as is Smurfette, who pictured sensei's to be old and wise. Just then, they see Baby hanging from a tree, just like in Smurfette's vision. However, Baby almost falls and Smurfette saves him. Baby then tries to say "sensei", which the Smurfs begin to worship.
The Smurfs place Baby down and Smurfette asks what they should do to go to a higher level of Smurf-Fu. Baby brings out a teddy bear and shakes it, which Smurfette interprets as the Smurfs fighting a bear - a real life teddy bear.
Back in the village, the Smurfs begin packing for their trip. Just then, Hefty rushes up to Smurfette to confront her about the bear, saying it's too dangerous. The minute he puts his hand on Smurfette's shoulder, she flings him across from her.
Later, the Smurfs arrive in the food storage workshop as they ask the "Baby sensei" what they should bring for food. He rejects the blueberries and would much rather eat candy. When asked again, Baby says candy and the Smurfs continue piling on the candy. Papa Smurf arrives, saying that Hefty brought him here, much to Smurfette's frustration. Papa Smurf does not recommend this, saying Baby is just a baby (while Hefty sarcastically says he's commanding for them to change his diaper), but Smurfette tells him that it's time for her and the others to take their Smurf-Fu practice to a higher level, and Baby's their sensei that they wouldn't want to turn their backs on. Papa Smurf decides to let Smurfette and the others go on their expedition with Baby. Hefty wants to retaliate, but Papa Smurf tells him they both know Smurfette can't be talked out of anything when she sets her mind to it. However, Papa Smurf tells Hefty to follow them to make sure they don't hurt themselves. Hefty rushes to the forest.
Smurfette and the other Smurfs are with the "Baby sensei" in the forest. Baby then drops the teddy bear and runs off, with Smurfette thinking that he's saying they should prepare for the bear and they must crawl. The Smurfs begin crawling with Baby while Hefty watches in disappointment. They then take a break for lunch, but since all they packed was candy, they're still hungry. Just then, berries come falling out of the sky (which is actually just Hefty throwing berries), with the Smurfs' appetites being filled. Smurfette believes this as Baby rewarding them since they have "humbly eaten".
Baby and the other Smurfs begin to keep traveling until they come across a snake, ready for a snack. The three Smurf students try to escape, but Smurfette believes Baby made the snake come here because he wants them prepared. Baby then holds his legs, which the other Smurfs end up doing as well. The snake is confused and almost eats them until it is forcefully stopped (Hefty is holding the snake from the back) and kicked away.
The Smurfs continue the journey until Baby starts rolling down the hill. The Smurfs follow suite until they can't slow down. Hefty sees and stops them by throwing down a log that saves them. When they turn, however, they believe Baby moved it with his mind. The Smurfs cheer for the "Baby sensei".
Later, the three Smurf students are beginning to get tired. Baby then runs to jump onto the sleeping bear. This frightens the Smurfs, though Smurfette says Baby is showing them the ultimate test for enlightenment. Smurfette wants the other Smurfs to do as she does, but all three students are worried and decide to get help.
Smurfette hides under a rock and wants the "Baby sensei" to guide her. Just then, Hefty arrives to save Baby, only to get hit by the sleeping bear's hand. Smurfette is mad at Hefty for following him until Hefty says he was the one saving her and the others from everything. Smurfette is touched, but the moment is paused as Baby is still on the bear. Just then, the bear wakes up and flings Baby away while grabbing Hefty and Smurfette. However, Baby comes to the rescue, dropping a rock on the bear's foot, pulls the bear's ears, slaps its nose, tickles it, and finishes with yelling at it, making the bear run away.
Smurfette and Hefty watch in shock, with Smurfette wondering how Baby did that. Hefty simply says he learned it by watching her. Smurfette believes that Baby is now going to grow up to be a great master and also realizes that she was acting crazy. Suddenly, they smell a bad odor, seeing Baby now needs a diaper change. Smurfette says until they teach him how to change his own diaper, she gives diaper duty to Hefty.
