Babylon is a city kingdom in 2300 BC where it was home to its hanging gardens. It was one of the seven wonders in ancient Mesopotamia from the 18th to 6th centuries BC. The city was built on the Eupherates River and was divided in equal parts of the left and right banks, with steep embankments to the river's seasonal floods. But now it lies in ruins in modern-day Iraq.
