Bubba is a minor character in the Smurfs cartoon show. He first appeared in "The Sand Witch".
Appearance[]
He is based off of The Loch Ness Monster and modeled after Dino from The Flintstones. He talks with haunting croaks. He does have the ability to leave the water, and most likely holds his breath underwater.
Personality[]
Papa Smurf calls him a Bubba Monster. Despite his reputation as a monster and his scary croak sounds, he is relatively benign. Things that are thought to have been washed away by the tide actually are captured by Bubba. He takes them to his master, the Sand Witch. He spends much time trying to cheer her up, with the next thing he finds is Baby Smurf. He is initially frightened of Baby Smurf's magic. However, he returns to retrieve Baby Smurf for the Sand Witch. Baby Smurf cries resulting in the Sand Witch and Bubba feeling guilty. Papa Smurf tells them that they have each other. Bubba is delighted when the Sand Witch finally cheers up.
