Summary[]
Hefty goes on his morning jog in the forest, bragging about his giant muscles to several animals in the forest and doing pushups. Just then, he hears a voice of someone saying he wish he could be like Hefty. This catches his attention while the voice that caught his attention is coming from Timid, who is talking about a snail, though Hefty does not know this and immediately jumps to greet Timid, who nervously says hi and then walks away. Suddenly, out of the blue comes Smurfette, pulling Hefty's hat down to his face. He pulls it up and tells Smurfette that Timid wants to be like him. Smurfette is confused, as she says that Timid is a sensitive soul and he can't go upsetting him while Hefty walks away confidently.
Later, Hefty goes by Timid's house and says he has to prepare for his "training" and starts by dragging him out of his house. His first rule of training is to master "the walk" and Hefty demonstrates by walking how a "proud Smurf" walks. When he tries to get Timid to learn, he finds him gone and hiding in Smurfette's garden. Hefty takes Timid out to force him to do the walk, claiming the motto is "Win! Win! Win!". He makes Timid walk "confidently" which the other Smurfs observe and begin to laugh at him. This lowers Timid's confidence and he hides in a barrel until Hefty dumps him out.
Hefty tells him not to worry about the other Smurfs and spins him around, causing Timid to fall onto Grouchy, who says he doesn't like being tripped. Timid tries to apologize, but he angrily walks away before he could. Hefty spins him again and he falls onto Chef, who drops the cake he was holding. Chef is mad at Timid and declares that there will be no dinner today. The other Smurfs voice their disappointment, with Greedy calling Timid selfish. Timid runs away, not wanting to do this anymore and he tries to escape Hefty.
Timid hides from Hefty near the well, and as he believes he is gone, Hefty shows up, believing that all of this was exercise to become strong. He also hears Timid's shy voice and believes he needs to sound louder, as he says people notice you this way. Timid informs Hefty that he doesn't like being noticed, which Hefty ignores and tries to get a loud sound out of Timid, but he yells at Hefty, saying he doesn't want to shout. However, this makes Hefty ecstatic and he want him to say it again in front of everybody.
The Smurfs are alerted by the Village Bell by Hefty, who is introducing Timid before his very eyes as becoming a "confident" Smurf. Timid tries to escape, but Hefty keeps him in his position and tries various tactics that he thinks will work. All of a sudden, Timid snaps at Hefty, points out some of his more negative qualities and that he was talking about a snail. However, all of this was Timid's imagination, and the poor Smurf ends up fainting. Smurfette berates Hefty for this, informing him that he definitely does not want to be like him and that he's scaring Timid. Hefty realizes the error of his ways and offers to take Timid home, albeit carrying him, much to Smurfette's annoyance.
Hefty dumps Timid into his house, saying he best get a goodnight sleep for more training tomorrow, which worries Timid.
In the morning, Hefty prepares for some more training with Timid, but Smurfette warns him to go easy on him. Just then, they come across a letter on his door, saying that he's left the village. This makes Smurfette mad at Hefty, saying Timid could be in extreme danger now. Brainy arrives to calculate the chances of Timid being safe and being in danger of getting eaten, but Smurfette and Hefty have already left.
Meanwhile, Timid is in the forest, ready for peace and quiet, but just then, he hears Bigmouth and Egghead as they discuss what to eat and what not to eat, such as eating stones, not lizards.
Hefty and Smurfette find Timid, who tells them to keep it down until he gets captured by Bigmouth, ready for a blue snack. However, he ends up fighting over Egghead for this blue snack until Timid pretends to pass out. The ogres are disgusted at Timid not being "fresh" and Smurfette and Hefty try to charge at the ogres, both of which end up getting caught (or in Smurfette's case, swatted by Egghead) and they drop Timid. Timid tells the two Smurfs to act weak. Smurfette catches on and Egghead drops her. Hefty, however, tries to be the strongest, which gets him nowhere until Timid yells at him to stop acting strong and be weak for once. Hefty finally realizes and pretends to be weak as well. Bigmouth believes it's not the right season to be hunting Smurfs.
Hefty makes a genuine apology for forcing Timid to be strong, but Timid says it's alright and Smurfette says sometimes, it's okay to be discreet.
Back in the village, Hefty tells Timid's fascinating strength to Papa Smurf and a couple of other Smurfs. Brainy then claims that according to his calculations that Timid had a 0.1% chance that he would defeat the ogres, which earns a kick out of the village - by Timid. This shocks the other Smurfs, who laugh after Timid says it slipped out.
Trivia[]
- This episode was originally scheduled to air in the United States on Nickelodeon on October 28, 2022, but was pulled and replaced with a rerun of the SpongeBob SquarePants episodes "Squidferatu" and "Slappy Daze".
- This episode confirms that Egghead is Bigmouth's brother.
- Papa Smurf only briefly appears at the end of the episode and has no dialogue aside from laughing with the other Smurfs.
- The scene where the Smurfs are summoned to the village bell is reused footage from "Diaper Daddy" and "Smurfy Secrets".
- This reused footage causes an error, as Smurfette is seen wearing her normal dress, but in the next few scenes, she is wearing her Smurf-Fu costume.
- The scene of Brainy getting kicked elsewhere in the village is reused footage from "Bringing Up Smurfy".
- Egghead catches Smurfette by swatting her in mid-air with his hands. This is a parallel of Bigmouth doing this in "Smurf-Fu".
- Bigmouth spits out a horseshoe the same way he did in "Smurf-Fu".
- Hefty dumps Timid out of a barrel the same way Brainy dumped Scaredy out in "Mind The Cat".
