Synopsis

Summary
Lily is in the Smurf Forest and happily skips into a cave. She wakes up a sleeping dragon named Voltaire, which makes him happy and he licks her. She goes outside with him to play.
Lily plays with Voltaire throughout the forest, including bouncing on him, dancing, riding on him, playing hopscotch, licking frozen soup, and playing hide and seek. Lily then sees that it is time for her to go and hugs Voltaire. Rowena elsewhere watches the two with suspicion.
The next morning, in the Smurf Girls' village, Lily gets out of her house, ready to start the day. Suddenly, she runs into Dimwitty, who is wondering how to get to his village. Lily informs him that this is the girls' village and tells him how to get from here to his. Dimwitty stays confused for the entire directions.
Lily walks into Voltaire's cave. However, the dragon is not there. She gets concerned and asks various forest animals where he is. She has no luck until a group of butterflies tell her that he is at Gargamel's hovel, much to her disappointment.
Lily rushes off to Gargamel's hovel to find Voltaire. She does indeed find him. It seems like he is going to run up to her, but he tramples her twice. He gives the ball to Rowena, who orders him to do multiple things and then tells him to go fetch the ball again. When Lily agitatedly asks why he has found a new person to play with, Voltaire simply ignores her and gives the ball back to Rowena. She orders him to do more things, but as she is ordering, she holds her hand up high, which makes Lily realize that Voltaire has been hypnotized by her magic bracelet.
Lily goes to Rowena and angrily demands her to stop hypnotizing her dragon, but Rowena refuses and orders Voltaire to freeze her. Lily figures out that she had also renamed him to "Pom-Pom". Voltaire begins running after her, attempting to freeze his former friend. Once again, however, she runs into Dimwitty, who is still trying to find his village.
Lily annoyingly informs Dimwitty that this is Gargamel's hovel while also speaking quiet so Voltaire won't hear her. Rowena orders Voltaire back to her and smugly waves to Lily, which makes her frustrated and disappointed that she has to find a way to get her friend back.
Lily and Dimwitty discuss the plan, though Dimwitty gets confused on Lily's instructions which prompts her to make a new plan. She watches Rowena play with the hypnotized Voltaire and sulks over it. Dimwitty asks why she is so mad at this, and Lily says that Voltaire is supposed to be an animal, not a slave. Dimwitty then asks if she gives him orders too and Lily nervously confirms this but assures him that it's because she and Voltaire are supposed to be friends.
Gargamel comes out of his hovel with Azrael, demanding Rowena's presence. However, the sight of Voltaire causes the duo to freak out and run back into the hovel, which amuses Rowena. She knocks on the door and tells him not to be worried at Voltaire, saying that she has a bracelet of obedience, and she got it from her grandma, who likes to use it on her grandpa. Gargamel already loves this creation and steals it from Rowena. He hypnotizes Voltaire himself and commands him to do the polka (which excites Dimwitty and makes Lily bonk his head).
Rowena is angered by Gargamel attempting to steal her dragon, but he doesn't care and observes Voltaire. He then realizes that dragons are known for their incredible smell, which Rowena also says. Gargamel decides to use Voltaire's smell to find the Smurf Village, which scares Lily but delights Dimwitty since he can just follow them. Lily and Dimwitty follow them to the forest.
In the forest, Voltaire is sniffing for Smurfs with Gargamel. Lily and Dimwitty nervously run past him and into a tree. Lily recruits multiple forest animals and plans for them to jump Gargamel. However, Rowena immediately goes after him, which causes the wizard to drop the bracelet and begins arguing with him.
Lily gets annoyed and designs a plan:
- Dimwitty will distract Gargamel.
- The butterflies will jump on Gargamel's face.
- The spider will scare Rowena.
- The bird will take the bracelet, and Lily will be happy.
Lily asks if anybody has a question, prompting Dimwitty to ask where his village is, which angers Lily and informs him about the plan. The plan initiates:
- Dimwitty successfully distracts Gargamel.
- The butterflies try to distract Gargamel, but he simply shoos them away and grabs Dimwitty.
- The spider does not scare Rowena; instead she finds it cute.
- The bird doesn't follow the plan, and instead tries to eat a worm from the tree.
Lily realizes that nothing is working and decides to do it herself. She bounces on a couple mushrooms and Voltaire and grabs the bracelet. She is chased by Gargamel, which the bird notices and takes the bracelet with Lily on it. Gargamel ends up running into Rowena, causing the little girl to get stuck in a log. Lily's plan works until the bird gets tired and crashes into a mushroom, which lets Lily get caught by Gargamel.
Gargamel cackles now that he has two Smurfs in his hand and steals the bracelet. However, he does not realize that Voltaire has been de-hypnotized. The dragon is ticked off at him as Gargamel orders him to freeze them, which makes Voltaire growl at him. Lily informs him that she threw Voltaire's scale in the bracelet in a bush. Gargamel gets scared of Voltaire as the dragon chases him. He takes cover in a tree as Voltaire freezes his butt and the bird takes a speck of his hair. Lily puts the hair in the bracelet.
Rowena gets out of the log and tries to hypnotize Voltaire again, but to no avail. She gets mad and is about to break down in tears because weekends at Gargamel's are the worst for her and she finally has someone to play with. Dimwitty and Lily point to Gargamel, and she hears Gargamel obeying her. She begins playing together with him and runs off on his back.
Lily thanks everyone for being a part of her plan and is glad to have Voltaire back. Suddenly, Voltaire gets distracted by the butterflies and Lily happily follows him. Everything worked out in the end - but Dimwitty still doesn't know how to get back to the village!
