A fairy is a humanoid being with long or short wings, either around the same size as a Smurf or taller. Fairies are generally peaceful and friendly, but they are fierce fighters when they are called upon to deal with thieves and intruders in their realm. They can use magic for many tasks: for example, to put spores on the flowers or to create colors for the world, making them very useful. Some fairies may have need for gold to build furniture.
History[]
All the Smurfs (except Papa Smurf) thought fairies were real troublemakers and bring bad luck, with the Smurfs nearly starting an unnecessary feud with the fairy Prince Garth. However, after the events that took place in "All's Smurfy That Ends Smurfy", the fairies and the Smurfs began to live in peace and harmony as friends.
In "The Magic Rattle", the Smurfs would meet another fairy by the name of Queen Fauna and her child Prince Fenwick, who were being pursued by the evil fairy Falan because of the magic rattle the infant possessed.
In "Greedy And The Porridge Pot", Greedy Smurf met Gunilda the good fairy, who does good deeds regarding feeding the needy and the hungry.
The Smurfs have also met at least two Tooth Fairies in "The Moor's Baby" and "Sassette's Tooth" with infants who were just starting to grow teeth, as well as young children who were losing their baby teeth in order to grow adult teeth.
