"Fire Brigade on Foot" is the thirty-eighth episode of Season 3 of the CGI TV series, The Smurfs.

Synopsis[]
Clumsy and Dimwitty are arguing about who should drive the truck. Unable to agree, they park the truck in the forest but lose it.
Plot[]
Chef has just finished baking muffins for today's lunch, but as the Smurfs are enticed by the smell, Clumsy and Dimwitty mistake the smell for smoke from a fire, panic, and begin fighting for the wheel. Their struggle causes them to launch backwards, knocking over the Smurfs who were busy and nearly running over several more until they crash into and ruin the banquet. Brainy arrives just in time to see the mess, scolds the two for arguing over the wheel nonstop, and threatens to get Papa Smurf involved if they can't sort it out. Dimwitty suggests they hide the truck to solve the problem, so the boys take their truck to the forest, park it an area, and sadly bid their goodbyes. Their decision later bites them hard when a fire breaks out in Papa Smurf's lab, and the two attempt to tackle it on foot and without their equipment, which was left behind in the truck. Handy is fortunately able to put out the fire with an airplane-and-hose contraption, but Papa Smurf is furious with his fire brigade for their unwise decision, and orders them to bring the truck back.
When they get to where the firetruck was, they discover it gone; Bigmouth has taken it as a toy. Dimwitty marches over to confront him, but Bigmouth captures them both, though Clumsy tricks him with a game of hide-and-seek in which he eats the if he finds them. The ogre is soon distracted, but the two Smurfs get into another fight over the truck, and this time they lose control over it as it careens off into the forest. Dimwitty claims he can track the scent of the firetruck, but after a long while Clumsy racing behind him, all he finds is a carrot. Luckily, they overhear their firetruck from the Smurfies' village, and sure enough, they find out Smurfbegonia has converted it into a flower shop (something Blossom helpfully confirms). When they go to take it back however, a third tug-of-war breaks out between Clumsy and Dimwitty, and when Begonia decides to drive it instead, she loses control herself and sends the trio flying out the village and over a cliff, where they all lose track of it once more. The firetruck rolls behind Mummy, who mistakes it for an errant toy and brings it for Dwayne and Rowena.
Clumsy and Dimwitty thus follow her all the way to Gargamel's hovel, where even its owner finds himself enthralled with the firetruck. Soon, Gargamel, Dwayne and Rowena break out into a fight over the truck, to Mummy's dismay. Watching them from behind a rock, Clumsy realizes that he and Dimwitty are no better than them, since they always disagree who gets to drive first. Dimwitty tries to interrupt the fight, but he only manages to sic Gargamel on himself and Clumsy, just as Mummy has enough of the commotion and uses a magic spell to send the truck back to where it came. Clumsy and Dimwitty hop on board just in time, but Gargamel latches onto the vehicle too. The fire brigade quickly activate the ladder to shake him off just in time for the firetruck to fling Gargamel off and smack into Bigmouth (who has finished counting and thinks Gargamel is his "rescuer"). The firetruck careens back to the village and bucks its occupants off smack into their house's walls, where they swear never to fight over the firetruck again. Sure enough, when a Smurf panics over a fire in Chef's kitchen, the boys offer to the other the chance to drive it. They end up taking too long though, and the episode ends with Handy preparing to douse the fire as Clumsy and Dimwitty continue their newfound-- and execssive-- politeness.
Trivia[]
- This is Begonia's first speaking appearance since "Gargamel, Queen of the Prom" and her first interaction with Dimwitty (despite being gender counterparts) since "Crashing Gargamel's Party".
- This is the fourth episode in which Gargamel appears without Azrael, with the first two being the "Rowena's Plant", "What A Doll", and "Tree of Knowledge".
- The scene where Clumsy and Dimwitty drive pass various Smurfs and them ducking in the process reuses footage from "Monkey See, Monkey Do".
