A frog is an amphibious creature that normally lives near the water. In mainstream Smurfs media, frogs are used by the Smurfs as transportation. They are also kept as pets, with Sassette in the cartoon show keeping one in a glass case and Weather Smurf in the comic books keeping one in a bowl, using it in his attempt to track weather conditions despite how wrong he gets his predictions most of the time. Characters such as Hogatha and Smurfette have also been turned into frogs with the hope that they would be restored to their original forms.
