The Iron Pyrites are a band of pirates that appeared in the cartoon show episode "The Patchwork Bear". Their ship has been stranded in the Crystal Kingdom ever since Crackle froze the kingdom with his magic crystal. Although they attacked the Smurfs at first when they came to unfreeze the kingdom and sought to take them as prisoners, they ended up surrendering to the Smurfs and helped them build a sailing sled so they could travel across the ice faster in order to reach the crystal palace where the Emerald Empress was being held prisoner by Crackle. Soon after the magic crystal was destroyed, the water was instantly thawed out and the Iron Pyrites were free to sail off once again.
