A laser is a device that generates an intense beam of coherent monochromatic light (or other electromagnetic radiation) by stimulated emission of photons from excited atoms or molecules. Lasers are used in drilling and cutting, alignment and guidance, and in surgery; the optical properties are exploited in holography, reading bar codes, and in recording and playing compact discs. In fiction, lasers are mostly used as weapons.
In the 2021 animated Smurfs series episode "Diaper Daddy", the titular character comes equipped with a laser that he uses to incinerate used diapers. It ended up being used to target Smurfs and humans alike as Diaper Daddy's programming is altered, causing him to go berserk.
