"Manners Matter" is the third episode of Season 2 of the CGI TV series, The Smurfs.

Synopsis[]
Papa Smurf is nervous about the new Nature Fairy coming to visit so he asks Willow to teach the Smurfs manners.
Summary[]
Papa Smurf is walking around the Smurf Village and tells various Smurfs what to do. As he goes around, he sees that they have become sloppier in terms of working and explains that Leaf, the new nature fairy, is coming to the village and they need to make a good impression and the last time a nature fairy visited, she had brung snow on the village for a whole month, with a flashback of Papa Smurf sick. He orders them to get to work.
Later, Papa Smurf comes back to see everything is clean, including Lazy. He says Leaf will be surprised and they are rewarded with dinner. However, disgusting habits ensue, such as running to the table (which Papa Smurf stops) and eating like animals. He then remarks he'll need some help.
Willow, Blossom, and Storm have arrived in the village, with Willow saying her girls will teach them everything they know about manners and if they can't teach the Smurfs manners, no one can. Willow goes with Papa Smurf for some tea to relax.
Soon, the Smurfs gather around for their first lesson, how to enter a room. Storm chooses Scaredy as the first Smurf. He is too afraid to even touch the door, and when Storm yells at him, he runs off. Storm displays how to enter herself... by kicking it open. The Smurfs cheer, but Brainy doesn't approve of this method. Storm overpowers him and he stops talking. The next lesson is demonstrated by Blossom as she uses Greedy as a subject, but before he can eat the blueberries, she yells that the way he is eating is not right at all. She shows them cutlery and the Smurfs are surprised.
Later, Papa Smurf and Willow come back from the tea, and they see all the Smurfs getting ready to sit. Now, they seem to have manners... at least until they start throwing blueberries at each other. Hefty says the girls have also taught them how to digest properly... by spinning. One Smurf, however, gets dazed and throws up while Sloppy farts. Storm then tells Smurfette to show them how they open doors. Smurfette kicks the door and gives a thumbs up. Willow is happy but Papa Smurf disapproves of all of these methods. He then says Leaf could be here at any moment, which is now.
As Leaf shows up, Papa Smurf tells them not to say anything unless he tells them to clean up the mess they made while he greets her. He wants to show her his laboratory, but she wants to meet all the Smurfs. Papa Smurf reluctantly accepts.
Papa Smurf and Leaf walk around, with Papa Smurf saying there's not a speck of dust anywhere in the village. They come across Handy as he is "finishing" cleaning up. A bunch of tools from his workshop fall out and Papa Smurf tries to take Leaf somewhere else, but she comes across Sloppy, who Papa Smurf attempts to name him "Smurf Dentist", but Sloppy reveals his name, with bad breath coming out. Papa Smurf pushes Sloppy away and tells Leaf he will be brushing his teeth. Leaf then sees Jokey and he gives her a present, which is a big bouquet of flowers, and she thinks they're wonderful. Suddenly, Leaf's stomach growls and she asks for something to eat, saying it would be an opportunity to meet everyone. Papa Smurf takes her to the canteen.
As they arrive, Papa Smurf tells Willow that they should get over with this fast. As Leaf sits on Chef's truck, Willow and a Smurf give her soup. She then hears Storm slurping loudly. He distracts her and signals Storm and the other Smurfs to slurp softer. Papa Smurf then asks Leaf if she would like to visit the lab, but he keeps burping. The other Smurfs believe Papa Smurf wants them to do this and they all begin a burp song, even Baby and Grouchy. Papa Smurf orders them to stop burping, but then Leaf lets out a massive burp, enough to blow a Smurf away.
Papa Smurf is questioning the burp as she seems so proper. Leaf explains it's not easy being Mother Nature's replacement and everyone has such high expectations. Papa Smurf says they should start over and be themselves. Chef comes out with the cake. Leaf is delighted, but first, she digests by spinning. All of the other Smurfs begin spinning. Papa Smurf and Brainy shrug and join in on the fun, ending the episode.

- This episode marks the debut of Leaf and the first speaking appearance of Sloppy Smurf.
- The pan of the village in the beginning reuses footage from "Where's Papa Smurf?".
- The scene where Greedy is eating at the table is reused footage from "Chef Soup". Another scene of a Smurf eating two carrot muffins on the table is reused from that episode as well.
- Chef's truck returns from "Chef Soup".
- This is the first episode in which snow is seen.

- For a split second at the end where the Smurfs are spinning, Blossom disappears.
