The Prehistoric Gmurfs are a group of Smurfs that appear in the 2021 Smurfs TV series episode "Smurf To The Future!" and existed before regular Smurfs, but they are called "Gmurfs" and use prehistoric "Gmurf" language. They resemble the Smurfs from the present time, except that they wear loincloths.
In the story, Handy and Blossom used Handy's time machine, but Blossom ends up sending them back to prehistoric times. They are then found by a prehistoric Hefty and a prehistoric Brainy, who take them back to the "village", which is actually a large ravine. Handy is captured by the prehistoric Smurfs, while they love Blossom's scent, as she has fallen into a barrel of Farmer's manure and the prehistoric Smurfs love dirty smells. Later, Blossom scares the prehistoric Smurfs away with her perfume, rescues Handy, and they end up escaping the prehistoric timeline.
However, they come across the Gmurfs again, and they plan to send Handy to get eaten to a large wild bunny. Blossom saves Handy using the time travel machine and they end up in the future.
The Gmurfs return again in "Smurfily Grumrfy". Following Baby tampering with Handy's cuckoo clock, he is sent to prehistoric times. He is eventually found by a prehistoric version of Handy, and a blunder from prehistoric Clumsy sends Baby and prehistoric Handy back to Smurf Village. During prehistoric Handy's time, he has fun with Baby, but Baby does not want him to go. He tampers with Handy's cuckoo clock, but when Handy discovers replacements, Baby takes it and runs away. Eventually, Handy, his prehistoric counterpart, and Papa Smurf catch up to him and after a talk, Baby agrees to let go and the four send themselves back to prehistoric Handy's time, where they bond with the caveman Smurfs.
General Intelligence[]
These prehistoric Smurfs are extremely questionable in terms of intelligence and are a tad dumber than the average Smurfs, though the prehistoric Brainy considers himself smart and the Papa Gmurf even more smarter. They also find Blossom's stinky smell as lovely.
