Rowena is a recurring character of the 2021 cartoon show who first appeared in Season 3's "Family Time".
Character[]
She is the granddaughter of Mummy, as well as Gargamel's niece, and Dwayne's younger sister. The two pre-teens are frequently dropped off at Gargamel's hovel to spend time with him, much to his annoyance. Rowena speaks with a British accent.
Personality[]
Rowena, being an average kid, is very bratty and destructive. She took a liking to her uncle Gargamel until he steals her doll for being too "annoying" to him. As such, she and Dwayne free the Smurfs as revenge.
Rowena is a bit of a follower, wanting to worship her uncle and accompanies him in catching the Smurfs for him. It is shown that in "Dragon Pet" that despite her mean demeanor, she just wants to have somebody to play with, which is why she decided to hypnotize Voltaire.
Appearance[]
Rowena has red hair and wears a very dark green dress (which is slightly chipped on the left side of it), as well as dusty pink pants and purple shoes. Often, she can be seen with a blonde-haired doll named Lucretia that has a green dress and brown shoes.
Relationships with Others[]
Gargamel[]
Rowena is Gargamel's niece. Initially, Gargamel seems to outright dislike her, not wanting to take care of her and Dwayne while Mummy drops them off and taking her stuffed doll away from her as punishment for being a brat to him.
Rowena seems to want to see Gargamel as her idol. She follows him in stealing the Smurfs often, as shown in "Family Time". In turn, Rowena is one of the few individuals that Gargamel does not harm (though this is likely because she is a child).
Dwayne[]
Dwayne is Rowena's brother. On the surface, Dwayne seems to be rather distant towards her, only working together with her to free the Smurfs when his toy console is taken.
The Smurfs[]
Upon first meeting the Smurfs, specifically Brainy and Lily, Rowena does not care for them until seeing that Gargamel loves to hate them. As a result, she and Dwayne free the Smurfs from his cage, and later, Brainy and Lily save the two kids from Bigmouth.
However, upon bonding with Gargamel, Rowena decides to make her uncle proud and tries to steal Brainy and Lily with the evil wizard and Dwayne. The Smurfs outwit the two kids by using Gargamel's living potion making objects come to life.

Trivia[]
- On the promotional poster for Season 3, Rowena's eyes appear to be larger than in the show. Her dress also seems to be a lighter shade of dark green.
- She & Dwayne are similar to Scruple, Gargamel’s apprentice from the 1980s series, and Jeanty, his one-time admirer from the comics. Like Scruple, she occasionally calls Gargamel "Gargy".
- In "Family Time", when Gargamel touches Lucretia, Rowena screams in his face saying "No one touches Lucretia", It’s in similarities to Denisa, Gargamel’s God niece from the 1980s series.
