We have to take you to Smurfy Grove.
-Smurflily
Smurflily (original French name Fleur de Lys) is a character who appears in the Smurfs: The Lost Village film and is one of the main characters of the 2021 TV series and the comic books, usually in the Girls' Village Collection.
Character[]
Smurflily is one of the Smurf Girls who lived in Smurfy Grove in the Forbidden Forest before it was destroyed and had to relocate to a new village elsewhere.
Personality[]
Smurflily is smart as a whip, practical, and rational. She thinks before she speaks, as seen in "The Crow In Smurfy Grove", where she believes a loud noise coming from Smurfy Grove can be any animal, not just the Growlers as Storm claims. She's not afraid to tell you like it is or to take charge. Even when no one asked her to.
Lily can be argued as some sort of introvert, often reading books during her spare time. When doing this, she is in the forest with Storm, who practices archery on her, though Lily doesn't mind.
Lily is very smart and rational, never acts without thinking something through, and has little time for silliness. Lily is quieter than the other girls, but when she speaks, she means it. She tells it like it is and pulls no punches. She’s one of the few girls who can calm Storm down when something – or someone – has gotten her riled up.
Lily is very talented and friendly, evident in "Waffle Wednesday" and "Blossom Goes Wild!", where she makes just as good waffles than Chef. She later reveals she made the waffles in a heart shape which is why the other Smurfs liked them better, despite using Chef's recipe. Lily is also a very good poet, evident in the episode "Poet Slam". Unlike Poet, however, she does rhyme similar to rapping.
Her friendliness is shown in "Waffle Wednesday" where she does not hold a grudge against Chef for taking her waffle truck and reveals to him that she used his recipe. When they start a new waffle-business together, Lily shows Chef that the Smurfs liked her waffles better because they had a heart shape. Chef takes the heart shape and smiles. Her kindness is also seen in "Poet Slam" when she says that she would not be a part of the Poet Slam contest if it wasn't for Poet. They become great friends after this, and they offer to teach the other about their respective rhyming skills.
Lily does not hold any hatred for many people or gets jealous at all. In "Waffles And Punishment", before she learned about Greedy's cheating at the waffle eating contest, she congratulates him. When she learns that Greedy cheated, she is initially mad, but she decides to forgive him and they reconcile, while Greedy gives her the trophy that he had gotten earlier. Lily also feels lonely after kicking the Smurfs out of their own village when Smurfette loses a bet with Storm.
However, even Lily can get annoyed at times. In "Blossom Goes Wild!", she gets into a fight with Blossom goes against Storm's warnings to not sit on the truck and ended up almost making them fall into the river, while in "Wild Gets Tamed", she works with Blossom and Begonia to make a giant cake that causes indigestion for Wild as revenge for stealing their muffins.
Lily has a slightly mischievous streak as well. In the aforementioned "Wild Gets Tamed", she, Blossom, and Begonia trick Wild into eating an indigestion cake when he steals their muffins. Lily also helps Storm throw the Smurfs out of their village in "Wanna Bet?" when Smurfette loses her bet with Storm.
Appearance[]
Smurflily is easily identifiable because her looks are different from the other girl Smurfs. She wears her dark blue hair in 4 pigtails (5 in the comic books), wears the sand-colored dress, hat, and flats. Lily also wears a brown vest and a sunset red lily flower on the right side of her hat.
In the 2021 series, Smurflily's design remains the same, though her dress is a darker shade of yellow.
History[]
Comic Books[]
During the events of Smurfs: The Village Behind The Wall, Smurflily ended up in the Smurf Forest, where she was on a training flight with a clumsy dragonfly and ended up having an encounter with dangerous plants before encountering Smurfette for the first time, after a quick glance, Smurflily quickly ran back to the Forbidden Forest, leaving her hat on the way after another encounter with a carnivorous plant and told the Smurf Girls about what happened.
Smurfs: The Lost Village[]
Sometime during the events of Smurfs: The Lost Village, Smurflily ended up in Smurf Forest, where she meets Smurfette for the first time, after a quick glance, Smurflily quickly ran back to the Forbidden Forest, accidentally dropping her hat on the way, she later returned to Smurfy Grove and told her fellow Smurf Girls about what happened. Unknown to her, Gargamel, Azrael, and Monty were going to the Forbidden Forest to find her village and capture all its Smurfs. Later, she and the Smurf Girls had surrounded Smurfette, Hefty, Brainy, and Clumsy, believing they were threats, but then, the two girls recognized each other from the wall and Smurflily introduces herself, so does Smurfblossom.
Smurflily and her fellow girl Smurfs take the Smurfs from Smurf Village to Smurfy Grove, when they meet Smurfwillow and discover Gargamel is going the wrong way. After Smurfstorm and Clumsy flew on Spitfire to check if Gargamel was still alive in the Swamp of No Return, Smurflily and her sisters welcomed Smurfette and her friends on Smurfy Grove hospitality, showing Smurfette their cultures. But later, they discover, thanks to Smurfstorm, that Smurfette was created by Gargamel to capture the Smurfs, and late one night, the Smurf Girls were preparing an attack against Gargamel once he comes and ended up meeting Papa Smurf. But Gargamel arrived and destroyed Smurfy Grove and captured all its inhabitants and Smurfette's friends.
Smurflily, alongside her friends, tried to escape and knock down Monty, but the plan failed as Gargamel and Azrael spotted them. After Smurfette sacrificed herself to save the Smurfs, ending up in her returning back into a lifeless lump of clay, all Smurfs both males and females met in Smurf Village to mourn for their loss, but their love for Smurfette had restored her back to life. So, all Smurfs from both villages celebrated together in a massive dance party, Smurflily was seen dancing with an unnamed male Smurf and later with Handy.
Relationships With Others[]
Smurfstorm[]
One of Lily's best friends, overall, is Storm. The two have been shown to share the same thoughts and smarts as each other. Storm was on Lily's side when trying to get Blossom to apologize in "Blossom Goes Wild!" and the two are the first to realize that Gargamel and Azrael were disguised as Smurf Girls in "Gargamel, Queen Of The Prom". In "Wanna Bet?", Lily is the first Smurf that Storm talks about taking the stuff she won from the village in a bet with Smurfette.
In "An Unsmurfy Friendship", Storm chooses Lily as one of her smurfball teammates and is notably the first Smurf she chooses. In "Poet Slam", she votes for Lily in the poetry contest against Poet and is the first one to say that "orange" and "porridge" don't rhyme after Poet attempts to rhyme them. Storm roots for her in the waffle eating contest against Greedy in "Waffles And Punishment".
At times however, Storm is annoyed with her constant idea of thinking before she jumps to conclusions, as shown in "The Crow In Smurfy Grove". Lily herself has shown annoyance for Storm blowing her ideas off and fighting them with violence.
Smurfblossom[]
Blossom and Lily are also best friends. Lily does not get as annoyed with her as Storm usually gets, as Lily is very calm. Lily is often helpful to Blossom, helping her retrieve Brainy's smurfway in "Where's My Smurfway?".
In "Poet Slam", Blossom roots for Lily in the poetry contest against Poet and in "Waffles And Punishment", she roots for Lily in the waffle eating contest against Greedy. In "The Great Smurfs Games", they partner up together with Handy for the Great Smurf Games.
Lily tries to reason with Blossom with things that are beyond her control, such as trying to simplify what Blossom is saying to a tired Storm that baby Smurfs are easy to manage in "Smurfy Day Care" and persuades Blossom to realize that the newly found crow is causing havoc in Smurfy Grove in "The Crow In Smurfy Grove".
However, they had once gotten into a fight with each other in "Blossom Goes Wild!" when Blossom sits on Lily's truck, causing the breaks to break off of the truck and almost fell into the river (with both her and Blossom in it) even though Storm had advised her not to.
Smurfette[]
In first contact in Smurfs: The Lost Village, Smurfette was the first Smurf that Lily came across. When Smurfette reveals herself to the others, Lily accepts her quickly and teaches her how to do archery. In "Poet Slam", it is Smurfette who convinces Lily to join the poetry contest after seeing her preform rhymes.
Lily likes to help out Smurfette when needed. In "Alien Smurf", Lily helps Smurfette save the other Smurfs from the alien Glee-Go. Earlier when the other Smurf Girls deny the existence of Glee-Go, Lily suggests Smurfette to lie down.
In "Smurfy Magic Duel", Lily and Smurfette do not share Papa Smurf and Willow's arguing in their duel and simply are in it for the fun and berate Papa Smurf and Willow for arguing while the other Smurfs are in danger of Gargamel. Before they have the Pumpkin Race in "Smurf Racers", Lily and Smurfette are shown happily talking to each other without showing any animosity to each other.
Smurfwillow[]
Like the other Smurf Girls, the two have a mother-daughter relationship. Willow cares for Lily's safety and well-being, berating her for not telling her that Lily broke the rule of not smurfing to the other side of the wall and had never told her in "A Smurflily Strange World". However, when Lily tells her what had actually happened before this and Willow agrees to leave it open, but only under the promise of not going near it or going across it again until further notice.
Willow supports Lily in anything she does, rooting for her in the waffle eating contest against Greedy in "Waffles And Punishment" and Lily does the same, being Willow's assistant against Papa Smurf in "Smurfy Magic Duel".
However, she and Lily grow tired of the arguing in "Smurfy Magic Duel" and berate the two village leaders for arguing while the other Smurfs are in danger of Gargamel.
Smurfbegonia[]
Begonia shares a good friendship with Lily. In "Poet Slam", she votes for Lily in the Poet Slam contest and roots for her in the waffle eating contest against Greedy in "Waffles And Punishment". Begonia is also seen eating her waffles in "Blossom Goes Wild!".
Despite their friendship, Lily often shows annoyance to her constant stupidity.
Chef Smurf[]
Chef was once jealous of Lily in "Waffle Wednesday". However, Lily never held a grudge against Chef for taking her waffle truck and reveals to him that she used his recipe. When they start a new waffle-business together, Lily shows Chef that the Smurfs liked her waffles better because they had a heart shape. Chef takes the heart shape and smiles. The two are still on good terms after this.
Handy Smurf[]
Lily and Handy are shown to be on good terms. In Smurfs: The Lost Village, they are seen dancing together and in "Waffle Wednesday", he builds a waffle truck for her. In "The Great Smurfs Games", they partner up with Blossom for the Great Smurf Games.
Grouchy Smurf[]
Grouchy and Lily were partners for the Pumpkin Race in "Smurf Racers". In the episode, Lily found Grouchy slightly annoying, as all he does is complain and says he doesn't like not participating. However, both worked together and won the Pumpkin Race by the end of the episode.
Brainy Smurf[]
Brainy is shown to be a friend of Lily. In "Waffle Wednesday", Brainy advises Chef not to spy on Lily when he believes she's a witch for having better waffles than him and suggests he just talk to her.
Brainy and Lily are paired together to go out into the forest to get freeklwort for Papa Smurf in "Family Time". The two enjoy each other's company and make sure they are both safe, including when they are almost captured by Bigmouth, Dwayne, and Rowena. However, Lily also shows an annoyance for Brainy in this episode and tells Dwayne and Rowena that Brainy just thinks he's as smart as he is, a sentiment shared by most of the other Smurfs.
In "Where's My Smurfway?", Lily feels bad for Brainy when his smurfway is broken and fixed it with Blossom and Storm and is delighted to see Brainy happy, though she finds his obsession with it strange. In "Poet Slam", Brainy is the first to agree with Smurfette that Lily should enter the poetry contest against Poet.
Poet Smurf[]
After running into Poet one day in "Poet Slam", Poet and Lily teach each other about rhyming. However, after Smurfette recommends Lily try out for the poetry contest, Poet gets anxiety. After Smurfette and Hefty boost his confidence again, the two poets face off in the friendly but fierce competition.
When the other Smurf's begin fighting over Poet's rhyme of "orange" and "porridge" being a rhyme or not, Poet tries to make the contest go to Lily, but before he can finish, Lily compliments Poet for being a mentor towards her, which the other Smurfs find touching and Papa Smurf declares the contest a tie. Afterwards, Poet and Lily promise to teach each other their way of rapping.
Greedy Smurf[]
Lily and Greedy had a waffle-eating competition in "Waffles And Punishment". When she believes Greedy ate all of them (in reality, he hid two in his pants), she and Reporter are fascinated with Greedy and want to follow him everywhere. When Greedy reveals that he cheated, Lily is initially upset but when Greedy apologizes, she forgives him and says they can start the contest over.
In "Poet Slam", Lily steals a muffin from the unsuspecting Greedy, devastating the latter.
Voltaire[]
It is revealed in "Dragon Pet" that Lily and Voltaire the dragon are very close friends. Lily is the only Smurf that doesn't fear his presence, and she regularly visits him in his cave.
After Rowena hypnotizes Voltaire to play with her, Lily gets annoyed and works with Dimwitty to de-hypnotize the dragon back to normal. Eventually, it works and Lily goes back to playing with the dragon.
Lily seems to be the only individual Voltaire trusts in general; after eating Wimpy and getting a stomachache in "I Want A Dragon", she scolds him and he only listens to Papa Smurf and Willow after she tells him to.
