"Smurfs Might Fly" is the forty-fourth episode of Season 2 of the CGI TV series, The Smurfs.

Synopsis[]
On the occasion of the Sarsaparilla festival, Chef, Brainy, Dimwitty, and Greedy are in the forest, without seeing that Gargamel bewitched the sarsaparilla fields.
Summary[]
In the forest, Brainy is with Greedy and Dimwitty collecting sarsaparilla for Chef's banquet tonight. However, Brainy finds himself breaking his brain as Greedy keeps eating the sarsaparilla, so he warns him to get more sarsaparilla without eating or he'll tell Papa Smurf on him, while Dimwitty keeps collecting things other than sarsaparilla, such as acorns and mushrooms.
Meanwhile, Azrael is trying to guilt his master Gargamel into not going along with the plan of sending Azrael into the air with a levitation spell to catch the cursed Smurfs. Just then, they hear Greedy, who is sick of Brainy telling him not to eat any, believing that there's plenty more sarsaparilla in the forest. Gargamel and Azrael observe from the bushes and Gargamel tells the cat that their banquet is a way to get the Smurfs and also an opportunity to use his new spell.
The evil duo hides while Greedy looks for more sarsaparilla. The two run into the field before Greedy does and Gargamel casts a sarsaparilla curse, just in time for Greedy to come across it. Gargamel and Azrael make their grand escape.
Greedy arrives in the field and is about to eat everything, only to calm himself for now. Greedy picks the sarsaparilla leaves while Gargamel watches in evil excitement.
Later, Brainy, Greedy, and Dimwitty return to the village to deliver the sarsaparilla to Chef. Chef then explains on the menu tonight will be sarsaparilla carpaccio, sarsaparilla fricassee in carroccio, and a sarsaparilla cheesecake. This delights the three hungry Smurfs and they get cooking.
The four Smurfs cook and work in the kitchen, although Greedy tries to get a hold of himself to eat them.
The sarsaparilla banquet is now finished as the four Smurfs watch in awe. Chef congratulates the other Smurfs, but especially Greedy, who almost didn't eat anything at all. As a reward, Greedy gets the first taste of the sarsaparilla fricassee. Greedy tastes it, but a mysterious glow briefly shows up on him as he says it needs more snail milk to make it lighter. This confuses Chef as he and Brainy taste it as well, and neither conclude that it needs anything to make it better. Greedy suddenly says it made him feel bloated and he starts floating! Chef runs to save him, but he starts floating too, as well as Brainy, and lastly, Dimwitty. The Smurfs end up flying out of the village.
Gargamel and Azrael observe the floating Smurfs that have made their way to the forest and sees this as a perfect opportunity. While they are ecstatic, Chef and Brainy berate Greedy for presumably taking magic sarsaparilla, but their complaints are cut short when the evil duo show up. They are all taken by Gargamel, who flies back to his hovel.
The Smurfs are locked in Gargamel's cage while he prepares to make a soup to put the Smurfs in for the Philosopher's Stone. Brainy tries to tell him that this magic doesn't work for normal Smurfs, but Gerbino Smurfs that live in the mountains. Gargamel doesn't listen and offers Brainy to Azrael. Just then, Greedy prepares to get a cake out, which angers Chef until he tells him they can take a piece of it and fly away. The four Smurfs eat the cake and fly out of the cage. Gargamel and Azrael try to get them, but to no avail and the four Smurfs fly out of the hovel.
The Smurfs are flying back to the village and with a fact from Brainy, they try to fly faster and it is working. When Gargamel gets his leg stuck in a tree, he takes Azrael and tries to fling him to them, but Greedy takes a tree branch and hits Azrael with it, flinging him back to Gargamel and they both fall elsewhere in the forest. Chef and Brainy congratulate Greedy for his smart work, and just in time, the flotation wears off and the four Smurfs fall.
It is sunset now and Chef, Brainy, Greedy, and Dimwitty run back and return to the village, where the Smurfs have been at the banquet. Papa Smurf asks the others where they have been, but Chef tells him not to eat the cake since it's been bewitched. However, the others have eaten it already and experience floating in the air. They make the most out of the situation, including Greedy, who eats several cakes but ties himself to the ground.

- Greedy's mouth food stains are green in this episode as opposed to the normal pink or yellow.
- While the Smurfs appear in the air, Lily is seen doing the dance performed by the character "5" in A Charlie Brown Christmas.
- On the RTBF Auvio site, this episode is mixed up with "The Sarsaparillo Run", which in French is titled "La Salsepapareille", while this episode's title in French is "Une salsepareille sans pareille". Due to the similar sounding names, the episode title and description are swapped.
