"Smurfy Mother's Day!" is the forty-ninth episode of Season 1 of the CGI TV series, The Smurfs.

Synopsis[]
While they have been captured by Gargamel, Papa Smurf, Willow, and Vanity offer to help Gargamel impress his mother for Mother's Day.
Summary[]
While in the forest, Gargamel is annoyed that his mom is coming over today and Azrael tells that it is Mother's Day. Gargamel ends up panicking and tries to find various gifts, including a bunny, a snake, and a mushroom, all of which Azrael shakes his head. Gargamel gets mad at him and says if Mummy isn't pleased with her gift, he'll tell her it's his fault, much to Azrael's frustration.
Meanwhile, Papa Smurf and Willow find various flowers as they show them off to each other and claim that their flowers are better than the other. Vanity takes them and ends up turning them into several flowers, much to their amazement. Suddenly, Gargamel shows up and the two run away. Vanity is taken as Papa Smurf and Willow yell at Gargamel to let him go... only to get swiped by Azrael and onto Gargamel. Gargamel says the three will make a nice bouquet for his mom.
In Gargamel's hovel, the sorcerer checks for his house to be clean for Mummy and he sweeps the floor. Willow is curious what has gotten into him. Just then, they hear a knock on the door, and it is Mummy! Gargamel nervously greets her, but she just pushes him out of the way. She criticizes Azrael and smells something bad. Gargamel says maybe it is the flowers he picked for her, but Mummy starts slapping him, saying she's allergic to flowers and ends up sneezing. She picks up the three Smurfs and asks him what she is supposed to do with them and throws them in a cage, saying he's obsessed. Mummy says she's going upstairs to take a nap and tells Gargamel he better have something to make up for everything. Gargamel moans, saying he has disappointed her again and asks what he is going to do. He comes up with the idea of torturing the three Smurfs. Papa Smurf says he has a proposition for him; he frees them, and they'll help him give his mom a good gift. Gargamel laughs, saying he could do it himself, but he gets hit by the "pillow" (which is actually a log) by Mummy. Willow tells him they can help him and says making people happy is their specialty. Gargamel agrees to this.
First, Vanity tells him he has to look presentable, meaning he has to stand up straight and smile. Second, Papa Smurf recommends him to cook a dinner for her. Soon, Gargamel is stirring "wild berry compote" and as Papa Smurf is telling him what to do, Gargamel gets annoyed and begins putting random things into the soup, like a shoe and a lizard. Then, he pours chili powder in it, despite Papa Smurf's warnings. Third, Willow tells him to make a lovely poem for his mother. As Gargamel recites the poem, Mummy wakes up from her nap and she tells him she's hungry. Gargamel locks the Smurfs back up and brings dinner to her. However, when she eats the "wild berry compote", she starts breathing fire due to the chili powder. Gargamel offers her some tea, but she whacks him with a broom, saying she's not going to drink his tea. Willow is worried as if Gargamel's mom isn't satisfied, Gargamel will make cat food out of them. Papa Smurf reminds Gargamel about the poem.
The three Smurfs begin supplying music while Gargamel says the poem to his mom, they hear the door (to Mummy's relief). A delivery guy gives Gargamel a box. Gargamel's mom sees the box is from her nephew Marmagel. She opens the box and a lizard crawls out. Azrael is about to eat it, but the lizard breathes fire on him, and he is burned. Mummy laughs at this. She berates him, saying her son is not a real sorcerer. Mummy and the lizard go out for a walk.
Once they close the door, Gargamel is extremely angry at the three Smurfs and begins to look for something to destroy them with. Willow realizes that all his mom wants is for his son to be a great sorcerer. Papa Smurf agrees and says they should impress his mother with a spell so they could get out of the hovel. As Gargamel begins to use a weapon, the three pretend that they are upset that they have to go, especially since they have a "special potion". Gargamel says he will not destroy them unless they make the special potion. They say it will take an hour, but Gargamel says Mummy could be back any minute now, so they say that in the meantime, he could impress her by using fake torture spells. Vanity offers to be the one who endures the spells, saying he has been taking lessons from Poet. Gargamel decides to compromise, and they shake hands.
While Papa Smurf and Willow make the potion (and laugh at something that Willow has sprinkled in), Gargamel tells Mummy that he's been working on his torture spells. Vanity pretends to get affected as Mummy laughs. Gargamel is happier and puts a potion in Vanity's mouth. Vanity begins coughing up burp bubbles and Mummy is impressed. Azrael pops one of the burp bubbles and covers his nose. Vanity faints and Mummy says she underestimated Gargamel and says maybe he is just as good as Marmagel. Just then, Papa Smurf and Willow have just finished the potion and Gargamel explains to her that he has gotten the best surprise for Mother's Day.
Gargamel serves the soup potion to Mummy and tells her this will give her the ultimate power of evil. Mummy refuses, saying the ultimate power is her gift. As Gargamel turns away however, she drinks the potion and so does Azrael and the lizard. Mummy begins being nice to Gargamel and says she loves him. She begins giving him multiple kisses while Azrael and the lizard cuddle over him. The three Smurfs laugh while Gargamel is suffering. He tries to run away as Mummy, Azrael, and the lizard chase him. Mummy gives Gargamel a hug, but her bad breath causes Gargamel to gag. The three Smurfs run out of the hovel.
As the three run off, Papa Smurf and Willow realize that they "accidentally" used the wrong potion... love!
