"Smurfy Secrets" is the thirtieth and thirty-first (A|B) episode of Season 1 of the 2021 CGI TV series, The Smurfs.

Synopsis[]
When Gargamel tries to transform into a Smurf, Papa Smurf asks Brainy and Storm to collect the Smurfs' secrets to prove their identity in a notebook, but Jokey gets a hold of the pages and they spread around the village.
Summary[]
Part 1
Handy has finished repairing Brainy's smurfway as if it were brand new. Brainy thanks him and Handy says he made some improvements: when he presses the handle, it compresses the spring and brings more energy, but Brainy doesn't listen to that and is just happy that the smurfway has been fixed. Handy then remembers that he forgot to fix the brakes and tries to tell Brainy, but he doesn't hear that and the smurfway goes out of control and ends up driving around the village. He passes by Grouchy, who turns upside down as he hits him.
The vehicle goes into the forest. He goes into a log and then rolls onto a cliff, where he falls near Gargamel's hovel. He laughs nervously until he hears Gargamel as he tells Azrael that he has created "the moment of his greatest diabolical triumph". He shows him a blue magic pill, which will transform him into a Smurf. He eats it, and shrinks down, but he is pink, still has thick eyebrows and he has spots. Brainy (quietly) and Azrael laugh at him, but Gargamel tells him that when he perfects the potion, he will look and sound like a Smurf. This worries Brainy. Just then, Mummy comes and looks at him in disbelief that he's still trying to catch Smurfs. Gargamel tells her to mind her own business. Mummy says that was rude, especially since she brought Hugglesbottom with her. Gargamel wants the stuffed rabbit, on one condition: change himself back. Gargamel turns back and hugs Hugglesbottom. Brainy is now concerned, but he falls. Azrael looks back, but there is nobody there. He goes with Gargamel and Mummy. Brainy goes back to the village to warn Papa Smurf.
In the village, Papa Smurf rings the Village Bell, summoning all of the Smurfs to come. Papa Smurf says thanks to Brainy; they know that Gargamel is trying to change into one of them. As this is an enormous threat to their safety, Brainy comes and is about to tell them about the news, but all of the Smurfs don't know what he is saying. Brainy simplifies by saying that all of the Smurfs have to share their secrets with him so he can write them down in a notebook. None of the Smurfs want Brainy knowing their secrets, but Papa Smurf says that all of the Smurfs' secrets are safe in the notebook along with his special security deputy... Storm, who arrives on a stork as soon as she comes in the village, she tells two Smurfs to go to the right and left, respectively. Brainy tells her that he's the one who is calling the shots as she is special security deputy. Storm says she's been thinking of becoming "Chief Security Deputy", much to Brainy's annoyance. He then asks Papa Smurf why he called her. Papa Smurf giggles.
Later, the Smurfs are in a line to tell their secrets to Brainy and Storm. First up is Handy, who says he has a freckle on his "smurf". Then, there's a Smurf who says, "He has no smurf". Next is Smurfette, who says her feet are a little "smurfy" (smelly). Brainy writes it down, then he and Storm laugh a bit, much to her embarrassment. Next, there is a Smurf, who just says he really loves Smurfs. Next up is Papa Smurf, who says sarsaparilla makes him toot. Brainy and Storm are surprised to hear that. Then, Chef, who reveals he has a secret stash of sarsaparilla candy, but he won't tell where. Next up is Jokey, who asks how if his secret will be safe. Brainy tells him that the notebook will never go out of Brainy's sight. Jokey offers him a present and when it explodes, the notebook is in his hands. They still force him to give a secret. His secret, however, turns out to be him "smurfing" in Farmer's field, to which Farmer hears. Jokey says it's completely normal, but all of the Smurfs now think differently of him. He offers a present, but nobody wants it. Jokey is mad at Brainy and Storm, saying they'll regret saying this.
In Gargamel's hovel, Gargamel tells Azrael that he has found the missing ingredient to transforming into a Smurf: by using the hair of one, but he believes an old piece of lettuce will work too. He puts it in the potion, and it fires up. He is about to eat the blue pill again, but he hiccups and turns into a lizard. Azrael is prepared to eat the lizard Gargamel and he starts chasing him around the hovel. Mummy comes inside and sees the lizard. Azrael jumps on her and she stumbles over and falls, breaking a potion she was holding. She hits Azrael and kicks him out of the hovel. She then tries to search for the lizard not knowing he's Gargamel. She finds him and kicks him out as well, this time using a broom. In the forest, lizard Gargamel lies down on the ground and comes face to face with Azrael, who starts chasing him again. Azrael nibbles on the lizard, but Gargamel ate the blue pill before Mummy kicked him out, causing him to turn back into Gargamel. He looks at him unsatisfied.
Back in the village, Brainy and Storm are doing a security check around the village. They first come around a Smurf with flowers. Brainy asks if he's Gargamel, to which he replies no. Brainy checks to see if he has a secret and he murmurs it to Brainy. They find him innocent and zoom off with their Smurfways. They then come across Grouchy, who says he doesn't like secrets. They say he is clear as well. They start to identity check various Smurfs, even Baby Smurf. Storm approaches a random Smurf. He tells her his secret that he likes to dress up, but she thinks that he's Gargamel and shows him to Brainy. Brainy tells her that the Smurf really likes to dress up. Storm asks him how she is supposed to read it. The two then argue, but they let go of the book near Jokey, who is still mad. Brainy puts on his glasses and Jokey gives him and Storm back the book while sounding menacingly. As the two nervously leave, Jokey reveals that he still had the pages.
On the edge of Handy's workshop, Jokey releases the pages around the village, causing multiple Smurfs to make fun of one another. Brainy and Storm are still arguing but they hear some Smurfs coming to them. They are mad that all of their secrets have been revealed and Brainy tells them that he can share his secret, but Storm backs him up, saying it was Jokey's fault. Hefty does not care as it was their responsibility to keep them secret. The two run off and the others run after them. As they run into the forest, Hefty tells them not to come back.
In the forest, Brainy and Storm decide to wait until the others calm down. Just then, they hear Gargamel as he says he has the perfect place for them to stay. He puts his hand near them and the screen fades to black.
Part 2
Continuing off what happened in the previous episode, Gargamel says he has the perfect place for them to stay. He puts his hand near them, and they escape. Gargamel tells Azrael to chase Storm while he tries to find Brainy. As he is looking for Brainy, Brainy thinks that he is safe until he sees Gargamel right behind him. Storm is still running from Azrael, but she and Azrael come across a bear. They run from it and Storm runs into a log with the bear looking for her. Azrael is also in the log and just as he is about to chase her again, the bear grabs Azrael and hugs him. Storm escapes safely. When the bear falls asleep, Azrael escapes as well. Storm and "Brainy" catch up with each other, but Brainy is now Gargamel as a Smurf. As they go back to the village, Azrael smiles evilly.
The two go back to the village, where one Smurf spots them and multiple Smurfs gather around each other to attack Fake Brainy and Storm, Papa Smurf comes to tell the two that they've caused a huge mess. Storm wants to make it up to them, so a Smurf suggests they tell their secrets, to which Papa Smurf agrees to, saying it's only right for them. Fake Brainy reveals that he is Gargamel, but all of the Smurfs laugh at him and none of them believe him until he turns regular again and starts infiltrating the village and captures all of the Smurfs in a sack. Azrael comes and helps him attack as well. Storm wonders what happened to Brainy as Fake Brainy was Gargamel.
In Gargamel's hovel, Brainy has turned out to be here with Mister Hugglesbottom and Mummy. Mummy comes and gives "Gargamel" some lizard traps. She believes that he has turned into a Smurf again, to which he replies with "Yes mother". Mummy notices this and tells him that he hasn't called her that in years. She then comes to the conclusion that Brainy is not her son and starts chasing him with the broom. Brainy then escapes from the hovel as Mummy gets hurt by the lizard traps. Brainy remarks that he should find a second pair of glasses.
Back in the village, Gargamel is still capturing every Smurf, even looking through their houses and grabbing them. As Gargamel says he caught all of the Smurfs, Azrael tries to tell him that they are missing Storm, so Gargamel tells him to find her. He tries to find her as well. It turns out that Storm is in the well and she tries to find a way to save the others. She then remembers that Chef told her and Brainy that he had a secret stash of sarsaparilla candy, which she finds in the middle of the well.
Meanwhile in the forest, Brainy is still trying to find his way to the village as he keeps bumping into things. He then tries to think of a plan, and he then has an idea. He travels all the way into a nest, where he tries to call for a stork like Storm did. While struggling at first, he yells, and a stork comes.
In the village again, Gargamel is still trying to get Storm and he sees her as she has the sarsaparilla candy. She rolls it onto the floor, where Gargamel is tripping. He falls over and Storm jumps on him, hitting his stomach. She then pulls his nose and attacks him. She delivers several punches by the face and has one final fall and faints. As Storm is about to rescue all of the captured Smurfs out the bag, she comes across Azrael, who is taken by Brainy and the stork. He subsequently falls into the clutches of the bear, who hugs him endlessly. Storm gives Brainy back his glasses and they free all of the Smurfs. Papa Smurf congratulates them as they saved the day. Brainy calls another stork and Gargamel gets up and sees Mister Hugglesbottom being carried by it. Gargamel wants the stuffed rabbit, but he is forced to destroy his magic pills when Brainy uses the rabbit as hostage. The stork zooms away as Gargamel chases it out of the village for the stuffed rabbit. All of the Smurfs cheer and Papa Smurf gets Jokey to bring back the pages in his gag box and as it explodes in their faces, everyone laughs.
Meanwhile, Gargamel is still chasing the stork for Mister Hugglesbottom. The stork drops it as Gargamel chases it. Gargamel then realizes he is no longer on ground, and he falls. This is where the bear is with Azrael. He sees Gargamel and he squeeze-hugs them. Gargamel then remarks how he hates the Smurfs.

Trivia[]
- This is the second 22-minute episode of the series after "The Pluffs!".
- This episode has similarities to the 80's episode "The Fake Smurf" with Hogatha instead of Gargamel and some parts of the original comic with Gargamel in the plot.
- Clumsy appears without the droop of his hat in this episode. It's possible that they animated a different Smurf, but they dubbed it with Clumsy, as this is present in both dubs.
- This episode hints that there are exactly 100 Smurfs. After capturing the last Smurf in the village, Gargamel counts 99. Since Azrael counted Storm and Brainy was not there, excluding Storm and including Brainy, there are 100 Smurfs. However, this is likely contradicted as it may have been referencing the original 100 male Smurfs in the comics; whilst Smurfette and Baby Smurf were excluded.
- One of the Smurfs that is laughing at the end sounds similar to Dimwitty, though it is unknown if this is Dimwitty or if this is a regular Smurf.
- Gargamel refers to Hugglesbottom as "my precious" when it is being carried by a stork, similar to what Gollum calls The One Ring from The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. This is also heard by Vanity in "The Curse Of The Smurfs' Treasure".
- The scene where Brainy's perspective on the obstacles that he faces while he is on his smurfway is repeated from "My Smurf The Hero" from Scaredy's perspective.
- Gargamel infiltrating the village and capturing the Smurfs contain several repeated scenes of footage from "Diaper Daddy" and "Clumsy Not Clumsy".
- The repeated footage from "Clumsy Not Clumsy" causes an error. Brainy is seen in one of the clips, but Brainy was in the forest at the time.
- A shot that features a bucket and some water is repeated footage from "Where's Papa Smurf?".
- Smurfette yelling "Gargamel!" is partially repeated footage from "The Majestic 5".
- This episode features Hefty's gym as blue, which is how it stays for the rest of the series. Before this episode, "Who Nose?" showed that it was mostly dark green.
