A snake is an elongated, legless, carnivorous reptile of the suborder Serpentes which can be distinguished from legless lizards by its lack of eyelids and external ears.
In mainstream Smurfs media, various beings have owned or used snakes. Gargamel has on a few occasions used snakes in his attempt to capture Smurfs. In the 1981 series episode "I Was A Brainy Weresmurf", Malakov the circus show master owns a pet snake by the name of Talbot. Snakes appear in the 2021 TV series as well.
Snakes in the 2021 series have consistently been portrayed as evil or have played antagonistic roles, such as "Bringing Up Smurfy", where a snake tries to eat Dimwitty's egg.
