The Snowbeast is a character who first appeared in the cartoon show episode "The Abominable Snowbeast", and a minor character who appeared in Schtroumpf Mag that is part of the Smurfs comic book series. He is a yeti who lives alone in the region of Ice Mountain, who guards the precious snowflower which has healing properties. In the episode where the Smurfs first encounter the Snowbeast, he took Smurfette into his cave and tried to be friends with her, but although she at first didn't appreciate being taken away by him, she came to be sympathetic to the creature when he was being pursued by her fellow Smurfs. When Papa Smurf proved that he and the Smurfs were no danger onto him, the Snowbeast allowed them to take as much snowflower pollen as they needed and to depart in peace with Smurfette, who promised that she will visit him.
His next appearance was in the cartoon episode "The Smurfwalk Cafe", when he came to the rescue of Handy and Greedy when they were gathering snow for their smurf cream maker and were being pursued by Gargamel.
