The Swamp Creature is a character from the Season 4 episode The Secret Of Shadow Swamp. He is first seen like a muddy stepping stone, but when Dismal Boggs and Grouchy Smurf accidentally hop on him, he rises out of the swamp and intends to eat Grouchy until Dismal Boggs feeds him swamp berries. Suddenly, the swamp creature hears Papa Smurf and the other Smurfs approaching. He scares them off and the Smurfs run off with a bunch of Smurfberry pies flying at him. The swamp creature goes curious and tries them giving the Smurfs enough time to escape to find Grouchy. The swamp creature then follows them until they reach the end of the trial. He then bellows out to the Smurfs, "More pies! More pies!" Understanding this, Papa Smurf tells Natural Smurf to communicate with him in order to find Grouchy. The swamp creature appears again as his hand reaches out and grabs Grouchy and Dismal Boggs from a deadly whirlpool. As to that, the swamp creature become Dismal's companion as they journey to the Lost Valley Of The Vultures.
