"The Pluffs!" is a two-part and twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth (A|B) episode of Season 1 of the CGI TV series, The Smurfs.

Synopsis[]
Brainy and Blossom enter a parallel universe where the Smurfs are gray and mean, while Gargamel and Azrael are kind.
Summary[]
Part 1
On a stormy day, Brainy and Blossom are busy picking blueberries as Brainy starts telling her that Papa Smurf says that blueberries are the best fruit. Blossom replies that he should think of his own claims, but she starts talking about them and how there are "better" fruits. While Brainy uses blueberries to block her talking, they notice that it's getting dark and they should head back to the Smurf Village, but both of them come across Gargamel, who is searching for Azrael. They manage to hide and as Blossom starts talking again, Brainy goes to his smurfway with Blossom under the tiny chair it has. Gargamel notices the two and they try to find another way out, but lightning strikes the two and they end up in an alternate universe.
When Brainy and Blossom enter the universe, Brainy mourns the loss of his smurfway, but Blossom mentions that they should focus on trying to get back to their village. Just then, they see what they think is Azrael - who is being chased by a rabbit, much to their confusion.
Brainy and Blossom find a village, and when they enter it, they notice that it's dark and gloomy. They come across who they think is Smurfette picking out flowers, but she turns around and they notice she is gray and is named "Pluffette". Just then, Hefty Pluff comes near her as they are being mean to each other (Pluffette shoves her flowers onto Hefty, while Hefty drops his dumbbell on her foot). Brainy and Blossom walk away as Pluffette chases Hefty. They come across Vanity Pluff, who is busy admiring himself in the mirror. Jokey Pluff comes and opens a punching box, but Vanity takes it from him before it hits him, sending Jokey flying.
Brainy and Blossom then see the various antics of the Pluffs, such as Farmer Pluff running a Pluff over with his tractor and Chef Pluff throwing pies at Greedy Pluff. They then notice "Bigheart" (an alternate universe Bigmouth) being tortured by the Pluffs in the village, kicking him and punching him. In fear that they will discover Brainy and Blossom as non-normal Pluffs, they hide into Handy Pluff's workshop and disguise themselves as Pluffs. While walking around, the duo see Bigheart as the Pluffs torture him by tying him to a peg and tickling his foot as Brainy and Blossom look in horror.
The two decide to find directions, but they find Blossom Pluff, who comes in close contact with the normal Blossom. Blossom Pluff eventually discovers that Brainy and Blossom are not real Pluffs and yells this to everyone. The duo hide in Papa Pluff's lab as Brainy attempts to find potions to bring them back into the real world. Just then, Papa Pluff comes in (while the Pluffs outside break in) and he licks his hand as puts it on Brainy's face. He notices they're not Pluffs and he and the others make fun of Brainy as Papa Pluff steals his glasses. Blossom tries to defend a helpless Brainy but is shot down by the Pluffs, who also make fun of their blue skin and the word "Smurfs".
Blossom and Brainy are taken prisoner and get trapped inside of a cell with Dimwitty Pluff and Blossom Pluff guarding. Brainy and Blossom discover that who appears to be Gargamel has been stored in the room too.

Part 2
Continuing where we left off from Part 1, Brainy and Blossom discover that Gargamel is in the cell with them. At first, they believe it's Gargamel, but they learn that this is Caramel and he tells them about how mean the Pluffs are and that he wants to leave the village. He realizes that the captured Smurfs are not Pluffs and he detects kindness. He asks them if they have seen his cat Marshmallow anywhere, which they cover up with a lie (it turns out the cat they seen was that cat and not Azrael).
Brainy comes up with an idea, which is making Dimwitty Pluff and Blossom Pluff believing that they should be in the cell. After the successful plan, the three discover the irregular antics of Storm Pluff and Lily Pluff as they shoot arrows at Bigheart and Chef Pluff as he continues to throw cakes at Greedy Pluff. The three walks into the forest and walk off to Caramel's house.
When they arrive at Caramel's house, Brainy and Blossom notice Caramel being nice to Marshmallow, his cat counterpart of Azarel.
Caramel decides to read a book to Marshmallow until Blossom tells him he's getting off-topic. The duo discover that Caramel is also a wizard and that he is able to send them back to the real world by coming the way they came. Brainy comes up with another idea by going back to the Pluff village and steal Brainy Pluff's smurfway (called a "pluffway").
Brainy and Blossom go back to the Pluff village, but Brainy has his glasses removed by Blossom as the alternate Brainy would be suspicious and discover they aren't Pluffs. As they walk around, they have to act like Pluffs, but as they are doing this, they discover Brainy Pluff, who is questioning the real Brainy, who sounds like him. Brainy Pluff follows them to a Pluff's house, where the knock him out and use his pluffway. The pluffway, however, goes out of control and briefly picks up Papa Pluff with it until they reach a pole, to which he is dozed from. The pluffway picks up Blossom and they both free Bigheart. Blossom signals Bigheart to run away, but just then, Brainy Pluff, who is no longer knocked out, yells that they are not Pluffs. The duo run away with 2 groups of four Pluffs chase after them and into the forest.
Meanwhile in the forest, Caramel is trying to find a spell for Brainy and Blossom. Just then, the duo shows up to see if Caramel has made progress. Caramel attempts to say the spell, but it backfires as lightning strikes four groups of Pluffs onto a tree. Caramel then tries again, and it works for them. The other groups of Pluffs, led by Clumsy Pluff, crash into a tree.
Back in the real world, Brainy and Blossom are glad to be in the real world again, but then they discover that Gargamel is still in the forest. Gargamel and Azrael chase them as Brainy remarks that he's going to miss Caramel as they smile.
Trivia[]
- This episode was released on Apple TV in October 2021, ahead of its premiere on TV.
- This episode is based on the "mirror universe" concept created by the episode "Mirror, Mirror" from the original 1960s Star Trek TV series. It also adapts elements from the comic book story "The Smurf Menace".
- It is revealed that the smurfway has a tiny chair, which is what Blossom sits on through the episode.
- The travel between universes using Brainy's smurfway is similar to how the DeLorean time machine travels through time in the Back To The Future franchise, right down to the flaming tire tracks being left behind.
- The way Brainy passes by a Smurf with two buckets is similar to him passing by Clumsy in "Where's Papa Smurf?".
- A Handy Pluff is not seen in this episode. However, his workshop is seen, indicating that there is a Handy Pluff who just wasn't seen in the episode.
- Blossom refers to Smurf Village as "your (Brainy's) village" confirming that the Smurf Girls live in another village after hinting it in "Smurfs In Disguise".
- This is the first episode in the U.S to air in 2022.

The Pluffs were blue as opposed to grey in a scene of this episode.
- At the scene were Caramel's spell accidentally hits the Pluffs, the Pluffs were blue (like the Smurfs) as opposed to grey.
