Season 2, which aired from August 29, 2022 to February 1, 2023 (and in the U.S. from July 18, 2022 to December 8, 2023), introduces two new characters: Wild Smurf (voiced by Luke Calzonetti), a mischievous character with a strong connection to animal life, whose temper and strange ways will shake up the Smurfs’ daily routine; and Leaf (voiced by Jade Wheeler), the fairy destined to replace Mother Nature who doesn’t have full command of her powers just yet.

Like Season 1, Season 2 consists of 52 episodes.

New episodes began internationally airing beginning in the United Kingdom in September 2022.

It's also the breaking point where the series started to stay rock solid as a completely faithful translation to the comic books as dictated by the series' pitch bible, such as the characterization for the Smurfs becoming exact to their current portrayals in post-Peyo comics --- which includes Brainy's lecturing patterns matching his mannerisms in the comic books, Blossom's tendency of causing trouble with objects, and Smurfette's impulsiveness displayed in her debut appearance. Smurfette's skills in Smurf-Fu also start to become more prominent in this season.

This season was also the first full season to have its animation done under the umbrella brand of Ellipse Animation studio in the city of Paris (Some scenes of "Poet Slam" of Season 1 are animated by this studio). The animation and colors are noticeably brighter and fluent, and the skin for the Smurfs is changed to a darker shade of blue compared to the first season.

Intro Sequence

The intro is the same as the Season 1 intro, except executive producer Caroline Auderbert's name is added.

The intro starts off with three Smurfs putting up a P sign that says "Peyo Productions", with Storm and Willow watching. Suddenly, Brainy's smurfway comes in with Brainy on it. All three Smurfs fall down. Papa Smurf is busy walking with potions and Brainy crashes into him. Clumsy and Dimwitty drive their fire brigade truck around the village as Papa Smurf and Brainy are on the smurfway. Smurfette is shown with her Smurf-Fu costume. The theme transitions to Gargamel's castle, where the Smurfs are snooping around and Gargamel and Azrael catch them. The Smurf Girls are seen again, and Storm shoots a bone arrow at Gargamel's head. Handy then transitions the scene with his jetpack and we see Papa Smurf, Storm, Brainy, Handy, Hefty, Clumsy, Dimwitty, Blossom, Jokey, Willow, and Smurfette.

Trivia

• This is the first season:
  • To have episodes air in the United States before their premiere in Belgium and France.
  • To have a winter-themed episode ("A Smurfy Christmas").
  • To feature other Smurf Girls besides Storm, Blossom, Lily, Willow, Begonia, and Meteorite.
• Clumsy's role is noticeably reduced in this season, appearing in only 19 of the 52 episodes, and usually shows up in one-off gags. This may be following his earliest appearances in the comic books, where he did not usually contribute to the plot. His role increases again in the following season.
• Most episodes after "Curing Private Timid" have aired in various international countries before the United States. This is due to two major schedule slips (one in November 2022 and the other in June 2023) and many episodes being leaked onto Amazon Prime.
• Starting from "Smurf To The Future!", new episodes aired on the Nick Jr. block, making this series a Nick Jr. show. However, it moved back to the main Nickelodeon block starting from "Smurfs On Fire".
