Synopsis[]

Succulents2

Chef is growing increasingly worried when he sees that the Yummyus, the main ingredient in his famous Equinox pie, haven't bloomed yet and asks Farmer to do something.

Summary[]

Farmer reads to one of his crops a story about growing. He reminds them it's time for their midday nap. Just then, his snails want to eat the crops, but Farmer reminds them to ripen before they eat them. All of a sudden, Chef rushes up to Farmer in a hurry, needing for the Yummyus to grow. Farmer tells him it just takes patience. Chef doesn't like this patience and says the Smurfs wouldn't want to wait a whole year. Farmer consoles him and says Leaf can make them bloom.

Chef doesn't listen to the patience and tries to make the Yummyus grow faster. His first attempt includes spraying them fast with a hose, which ends in Farmer kicking him away. His next attempt is playing loud music, which clashes with Farmer's soft music and he gets kicked away once more. His last attempt is showering them with light, which Farmer blows out. Chef is beginning to get panicky and says the Yummyus isn't blooming. Farmer relaxes Chef and says if they don't bloom by tomorrow, he'll find something else for the Equinox pie. Chef worries that the Smurfs might eat him, but Farmer tells him to lie down and leave the plant growing to the professionals.

That night, Chef is having a bad dream about the other Smurfs yelling for Yummyus. It gets so bad that it ends with Greedy eating him. Chef wakes up from his bad dream, but says he needs to do something to the Yummyus.

Chef escapes from his house and makes his escape. He successfully avoids Brainy, who is doing a 12:00 midnight inspection on the sleeping welfare check. Chef makes his grand entrance to Papa Smurf's laboratory, where he finds a potion that makes plants grow faster. Chef finds this as the perfect potion and takes it outside the lab and into Farmer's fields. However, he suddenly trips on a hose and the entire potion completely begins growing. Chef thinks this is just no real harm done and walks away.

In the morning, Chef goes to the vegetable patch - but all of the vegetables have been destroyed! Chef runs up to it and Farmer is distraught, since there's no more crops to be served up to the Smurfs. Chef asks them if they could tell Papa Smurf about it, but Farmer informs him that Papa Smurf is at his Equinox convention. As the snails are crying about it, Farmer comforts them and says Leaf can help them.

Farmer and Chef go out into the forest to look for Leaf, though Farmer is distracted by the tasty mushrooms. Just then, a rabbit runs and takes it, but poops it as a break. Farmer concludes this rabbit as the one who ate the mushrooms for his pie, but that concern is ignored as Farmer then finds the good use of these fertilizer poop balls. Chef is furious at this and tells Farmer to leave the cooking to the professionals. Farmer apologizes and is upset, since he believes he ruined the vegetable patch and there's nothing left to eat in the village. Chef tells him it's not his fault and he sabotaged the patch. This enrages Farmer, who begins to throw poop balls at him as Chef runs away.

Farmer and Chef end up hearing Leaf, who is stuck in one of Gargamel's traps. Chef tries to save her, only to get caught himself. Leaf tells the two Smurfs that she was caught in this trap two days ago and she couldn't use her wand to change the Equinox season, which is why it was late this year.

Farmer runs to search for the wand. He finds it but a rabbit takes it and alters animals and objects as Farmer chases it. The wand suddenly turns Chef into a pumpkin, which Leaf calls the cutest thing she's ever seen. Unfortunately, they hear Gargamel in the forest, making Chef command to get the wand quick. However, Farmer trips on a poop ball and is forced to run on it. He finds himself running from Azrael, but Farmer jumps off of the ball, knocking Azrael away.

Farmer successfully gets the wand from the bunny and gives to Leaf, who is struggling to change Chef (and now Farmer, who is a bunny) back to normal. Just then, Gargamel finds them, but ends up turning into a bug with Leaf's wand. With the wand, Leaf turns into a butterfly and does the same for Chef. Though almost caught by a returning Azrael, Farmer is turned into a butterfly and Azrael hits a rock. The three butterflies make their way out of the forest, leaving Gargamel stranded as a bug.

Later, the village enjoys the beautiful spring and Farmer congratulates Leaf for the harvest this year, including the Yummyus. Leaf laughs, saying her wand can be a little unpredictable.

Elsewhere, Gargamel and Azrael make their way back to the hovel, where Azrael laughs at the bug Gargamel until he changes from a flower to a mushroom, to a walnut, to a pumpkin, to himself, which causes him to topple of the hill!
