The Thief Of Abelagot is an unnamed character that appears in the Smurfs comic book story "The Jewel Smurfer". He appears in the village of Abelagot as a person in the crowd watching Adhemar and Godilot's traveling show, noticing its recent star Jokey Smurf performing various tricks with their pet mouse. The thief entices Adhemar into using his new star to commit burglaries so that they could make more money than mere entertainment.
Eventually with the capture of Jokey's fellow Smurfs, the thief then set his sights upon the Duke Of Abelagot's castle in the hopes of that the Smurfs would help him get his hands on the Duke's treasure while they pose as entertainers. However, the Smurfs turn the tables on the thief by presenting a theatrical production for the Duke that reveals both the thief and the Duke's friend Ganelon as working against him.
While the Duke's guards give chase to Ganelon, the thief takes Papa Smurf and forces the other Smurfs to lead him to the treasure room which they claim to have found. Instead, the Smurfs lead the thief on a wild-goose chase until he runs into and collides with Ganelon. Both of them are captured and put into the dungeon.
