The Titans are a race of humongous beings even larger and stronger than giants that once existed in the Smurf Forest, according to Mother Nature's story regarding the origin of the Crowns Of The Titans in the cartoon show episode "The Master Smurf". They are incredibly powerful and long lived, as even an elderly titan can continue on living for over 400 years, which to them seems like a few remaining years.
Two of them were locked in a constant struggle with each other as they tried to defeat each other while wearing the magical crowns, but over time as they reached old age, they ended up realizing that neither of them could get the better of the other as they were too evenly matched, not to mention that their long struggle was ruining the forest. The two Titans decided to give up their struggle and spend the remaining years of their lives looking for Titanesses to settle down with, discarding their crowns in the process.
