Synopsis

Provoked by Storm and her legendary competitiveness, Smurfette embarks on a betting escalation.

Summary

Smurfette is out in the forest practicing Smurf-Fu when suddenly, she hits Storm, who is mildly annoyed at this. Smurfette tries to apologize and ask what she is doing here. Storm informs her that she is here to practice archery and suggests Smurfette to leave. Smurfette retaliates, saying there's enough room for the two of them, but Storm disagrees and shoots an arrow at a barrel, which accidentally hits a nearby Hefty and he struggles to get it off.

Smurfette cools Hefty down and informs him that it's just Storm and she wants her to practice somewhere else. Hefty tries to threaten her, only to figure out Storm is on the other side of him. She takes the barrel off his head and puts an arrow to his face, which intimidates Hefty into agreeing with Storm. However, Smurfette refuses and says she is not leaving since the clearing is for everyone. Storm decides to bet on this.

Storm's first challenge is to chop the most wood at once. The loser leaves the forest clearing. Smurfette says she refuses to play stupid games like this only to get enraged when Storm says if she had to race someone like herself, she'd be afraid too. Smurfette accepts the challenge, even with Hefty attempting to fight Storm off until she throws him away.

The contest begins as Smurfette warms up her muscles. She successfully chops the wood as Hefty cheers for her. Storm demonstrates Smurfette's weakness by throwing the logs in the air, slicing them with her arrow and lining them up perfectly, shocking Hefty but making Smurfette upset since she used her hands while Storm used her arrow. Storm calls Smurfette a sore loser for this, also enraging Smurfette and decides to challenge her again. She bets Storm the clearing and her good stick if one wins a contest of climbing up the tree first. Smurfette chooses to ignore Hefty's reminder that she said bets are stupid.

The next competition begins as Smurfette and Storm climb the tree fast. Unfortunately for Smurfette, Storm has a good advantage - she uses her bows to jump from one to the other and later, Storm wins as Smurfette falls. Smurfette wants another rematch and this time, she bets on her new nun-chucks and Hefty's new dumbbell, which captures Hefty's attention, but Smurfette says Storm can lose without her bow.

Smurfette and Storm make several bets later, including arm wrestling, jump roping, ladder jumping, barrel rolling, and card playing. Smurfette loses all of these competitions as Storm unsurprisingly gloats.

Storm later takes a tractor's worth of stuff in the village and more is coming later, including an invisibility potion, making Hefty displeased with Smurfette about these dumb bets. The other Smurfs aren't thrilled about this either, though Greedy is less upset since Papa Smurf gave him a special magic cake that reappears after eating a slice. Papa Smurf is wondering who took his cauldron and the other Smurfs tell him what Smurfette did. Papa Smurf orders her to get the things back, with Smurfette running off into the forest to make things right. Brainy offers to go with her.

Storm shows Lily what she got in the village while also mocking Smurfette about her shocked face. Just then, Smurfette arrives with Brainy, wanting to make peace and apologizing for using the other Smurfs' stuff. She wants Storm to forgive her apology - except one condition: Smurfette admits Storm is the greatest. Smurfette refuses and wants to do one final bet. She decides to make Brainy and Lily the referees while Storm believes Smurfette is a sore loser. Smurfette says this a bet of honor and if she loses, Storm keeps their stuff plus the village! This shocks all three Smurfs and Storm says this a pretty big bet and she accepts.

The final challenge is Storm and Smurfette picking a scale off a snake without waking it up. Brainy fears this and predicts there is a slim possibility this won't work while Lily tries to talk Storm out of this. Storm is sure she'll win and let's Smurfette go first. Smurfette successfully picks a snake's scale and lets Storm have her turn. Storm picks the snake scale as well, but suddenly, it wakes up and grabs Storm. Smurfette comes to the rescue and saves Storm, kicks the snake and boots it elsewhere in the forest.

Storm thanks Smurfette for saving her but reminds her that she won too. Lily wants to call it a tie but Brainy says the real challenge was not to wake the snake up. Unfortunately, Smurfette loses the bet... and the village. Lily is against the idea since they all have homes, but Storm says only for a couple of days so Smurfette can realize what she has done.

Storm brings Lily, Blossom, and Begonia to the village as Storm explains that they are here to take custody of the village and that means they kick every Smurf out.

The Smurf Girls throw several Smurfs out via rockets, seesaws, and kicking. The last one kicked out is Papa Smurf, who's potions explode. Smurfette nervously explains to Papa Smurf that she used the village for a bet and lost, which angers the other Smurfs. Papa Smurf calms them down until Brainy tells him that Storm's victory was legitimate, disappointing the other Smurfs and Papa Smurf orders Smurfette to end the bet right now or there will be trouble. Just then, Smurfette sees Greedy's magic cake, takes it, and rushes back to the village, much to Greedy's dismay.

Meanwhile, the Smurf Girls are on a bench in the village, though they find it lonely without the other Smurfs. Just then, Smurfette rushes up to Storm and offers a cake, coming to terms that she is the greatest. Storm is about to take the cake until Smurfette swipes it away, saying she couldn't possibly eat it all, but Storm bets she can. She eats a piece of the cake, but suddenly, it regrows, confusing Storm until Brainy says she has to eat the whole cake, which is evidently impossible, so she loses. This makes the other girls laugh, loosening Storm up and she shakes hands.

Smurfette and Storm make up as the former tells Storm she can train with her in the clearing, though this is interrupted as Hefty is happy to see the two friends again and bets they're gonna become best friend, only for Storm and Smurfette to say no more bets. The two laugh, though this leaves Hefty confused and terrified.

Trivia

  • Smurfette wears her red track suit throughout the entire episode.
  • A couple of things can be seen as Smurfette gives Storm:
  • Most of the footage where Smurfette kicks the snake is repeated from "Smurf-Fu".
  • The snake being booted off to another part of the forest is repeated footage from "Bringing Up Smurfy".
  • Despite being one of the Smurf Girls that take over the village, Begonia has no lines in this episode aside from laughing.
  • Baby Smurf is not seen in this episode. This is notable, as the Smurf Girls throw several Smurfs out of the village but are not seen with Baby nor is he seen with a Smurf that gets thrown out.
