Synopsis[]
After Wild releases a cuckoo from a cuckoo clock that stops time, the man who owns the clock uses Wild as a replacement.

The Chocolate Thief and Horsey
Somewhere in the Swiss Alps, a man shows his horse Horsey a magic cuckoo clock that stops time that he has just finished, and plans to steal chocolate with it, as he really loves chocolate. He puts earplugs into his and his horse's ears and they both enjoy chocolate. He tries if the clock is working and is happy to find out it's working well. Then he wants to eat more chocolate, but bites his hand and realises he's ran out of chocolate, so he and his horse depart to steal some.
Not far away in a dairy, a woman is making cheese and milking her cows with the help of many animals. Suddenly, unbeknownst to her, a time whirlwind appears on a table full of cheese and the Smurfs landed there. Greedy tries the cheese and finds out that it's delicious, while Papa Smurf realizes they must have landed in a dairy. They notice the woman who is just giving orders to her two mice to bring her some cheese, so they hide in the cheese before the mice see them. The mice bring some slices of cheese to the woman and Papa Smurf quickly orders everyone to get out. But Wild and Hefty notice that Greedy is missing and they find that he's in a the top of a cheese pile enjoying the cheese. Wild climbs up the pile to stop Greedy when he comes to the top.
Outside the dairy, the chocolate thief arrives and decides to try the clock one more time. Meanwhile, Wild notices Greedy climbing up the cheese just like him and goes to the top to catch Greedy there. But the chocolate thief uses his clock to stop the time in the dairy, stopping the time for the Smurfs, the woman, and the animals. He takes away the woman's milk bottle and grabs some rolls of cheese, along with the one Wild is in. He then unfreezes the time and the woman realizes she's been robbed, while the Smurfs find out that Wild is missing. Brainy tells them that he saw Wild being driven away, and Greedy feels guilty. Everyone is angry at Greedy, but Papa Smurf stops them and says they must find a way to follow the thief. Greedy kicks a stone and slips, landing on two slices of cheese he uses as skis. Papa Smurf, Hefty, and Painter follow them and tell the others to stay behind, but Brainy and Clumsy also join in when Clumsy trips and bumps himself and Brainy onto a slice of cheese.

Meanwhile, the chocolate thief drives along the snowy road on a wagon pulled by his horse, and they bump into a stone on the road. The cuckoo clock and the roll of cheese with Wild fly out of the wagon, and Wild is unstuck from the cheese. Wild notices the frozen cuckoo on the cuckoo clock and tries to tell it to fly away. As it doesn't work, he attempts to pull her off. Meanwhile, the Smurfs are getting closer to the wagon. Wild struggles to pull off the cuckoo, so he bumps into it, and it flies off, thankful to Wild. The chocolate thief notices this and grabs Wild, frustrated that he has ruined the clock. The Smurfs arrive just to see the man using Wild as a replacement for the cuckoo. As they're watching, Brainy and Clumsy bump into them, but they quickly get up and run towards Wild. The chocolate thief notices them and tries the clock again, and the time is stopped for the Smurfs, so he gets away. The Smurfs are unfrozen when he leaves and Papa Smurf discovers that the clock has the ability to stop the time. Painter points out that the cheese skis have been destroyed in a crash, but Greedy has a solution - a wide slice of cheese that they use as a sleigh and follow the tracks.

Greedy the chocolate bar
They arrive at the chocolate factory and bump into the thief's wagon while their cheese sleigh become Horsey's snack. They go into the factory, where the thief is looking for a safe full of chocolate. Greedy leads the way by smelling the track of the thief until he gets to a cauldron where the chocolate is being made. The others watch him climb to the top of the cauldron, but then they hear someone coming and hide, while Greedy loses balance and falls into the melted chocolate. The guards come into the room while Greedy gets turned into a walking bar of chocolate. He is driven away by the guards while Hefty tries to call him, but it's no use as Greedy's ears are plugged due to the chocolate. The thief observes the guards open the safe and as they do, he stops the time and enters the safe. Greedy is also not frozen due to his ears being plugged and goes look for Wild while the thief is grabbing the bars of chocolate. The thief notices Greedy just in time he releases Wild, and the two Smurfs run away. The time is now unfrozen and the guards grab the thief and drag him away while the Smurfs cheer for Greedy and Wild.
Outside the factory, Papa Smurf scolds Greedy for getting them into trouble, while Greedy, still as a chocolate bar, tells them that his stomach hurts due to all the chocolate. But then the Smurfs try some of the chocolate around Greedy and find it really tasty, while Greedy also thinks that he could eat some more of it.

- This is one of the final episodes of the series to air on NBC before its cancellation in 1990.
- The Smurfs' clothes in this episode are the same as in "Scary Smurfs".
- This episode marks the final appearances of Clumsy, Handy, and Painter in production order.
- Smurfette, Grandpa, Baby, Grouchy, Lazy, Vanity, Jokey, Sassette, Snappy, and Smoogle do not appear in this episode though Vanity and Sassette appear on the title card.

- Handy is seen at the end along with the others despite not coming along to save Wild.
